Large Crowd Gathers on the Final Day of Gogunda Ganguar Fair, Green Ganguar Procession Held

Udaipur: On the final day of the historic Gogunda Ganguar Fair on Wednesday, a large number of people gathered to witness the event, and the Green Ganguar procession was held. The grandeur of traditional rituals, folk dances, and cultural performances made the fair a special occasion. Known for its tribal traditions and the unique identity of the Garasia community, this fair attracted thousands of people. Villagers enjoyed shopping at colorful stalls, and attractions like the Dholar, Dragon swings, and other rides added to the excitement.

The main highlight of the fair was the Green Ganguar procession, which followed traditional customs. The procession started from Maliyon Ka Chora, passed through Charbhujaji Temple, Shanidev Temple, the bus stand, and finally reached Ganguar Ghat. After prayers, the transgender community leader Asha Kunwar, along with her disciples, performed a dance with Ganguar placed on their heads, captivating everyone. The procession then moved through Rajput Mohalla and returned to Maliyon Ka Chora, where the community’s men and women conducted a formal prayer.

**Cultural Performances Captivate the Audience**  
As part of the fair, the Tourism Department organized grand cultural programs. Artists from various districts performed at the Mewar Festival, mesmerizing the audience with their performances. The colorful programs continued late into the night, with local spectators and people from far-off places thoroughly enjoying the traditional folk arts. The cultural performances at the Ganguar Fair showcased the rich traditional folk culture, further enhancing the fair’s charm.

**Closing Ceremony**  
The closing ceremony was attended by Cooperation Minister Gautam Dake as the chief guest, while Vice District Head Pushkar Teli presided over the event. Notable guests included Gogunda MLA Pratap Lal Gameti, Gogunda Pradhan Sundardevi, Vice Pradhan Lakshman Singh Jhala, social worker Pappu Rana Bhil, Sarpanch Kaloolal Gameti, Ward Panch Chandraesh Phatavat, Kamlesh Teli, Suresh Soni, along with prominent villagers. The guests were welcomed by the Gram Panchayat. The event was hosted by Dayalal Chaudhary.

In light of security concerns, police forces were deployed at key locations, led by trainee IPS officer and Gogunda Station Head Madhav Upadhyay and In-Charge Station Head Shyam Singh.
