Pankaj Kumar Sharma Criticizes ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ Claims

Udaipur: Pankaj Kumar Sharma, General Secretary and Spokesperson of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee, criticized the central government's 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' campaigns, claiming that true self-reliance existed during the Congress-led government. He stated that although the BJP repeatedly promoted 'Make in India' over the past decade, it failed to make any substantial impact on the ground.

Sharma alleged that the 'Make in India' campaign had merely become an election slogan, with no real outcomes. He pointed out that the country's trade deficit was increasing, and the reliance on imports, rather than decreasing, was growing. He further accused the central government of failing to curb imports from China.

Sharma also highlighted that during the UPA government, India became the world's second-largest steel producer, but despite claims of self-reliance, many key sectors continue to rely on imports from China.

He accused the central government of focusing solely on publicity and showmanship, while the country’s economic situation continues to deteriorate. Rising inflation and unemployment are taking a toll on the common people, he added.

Sharma concluded by stating that the Congress Party is the only one capable of truly making the country self-reliant, due to its history of development and self-reliance.
