State-Level Watershed Journey to Enter Udaipur on March 21

Udaipur:  As part of the Prime Minister’s Agricultural Irrigation Scheme 2.0, the Watershed Development and Soil Conservation initiative is organizing a nationwide Watershed Journey to promote water conservation. This journey will enter Udaipur district on March 21, starting from the Vallabhnagar Panchayat Samiti. The journey aims to spread awareness about water and soil conservation in 27 districts of Rajasthan, covering 110 blocks. 

The Watershed Journey will visit the Gram Panchayat Modi in Vallabhnagar on March 21, followed by the Gram Panchayat Bagdad in Bhinder Panchayat Samiti on March 22, and the Gram Panchayat Karget in Kurabad Panchayat Samiti on March 23. 

Atul Jain, Project Manager of Watershed Udaipur, stated that the purpose of this journey is to increase awareness about water conservation and watershed development in the regions of Bhinder, Vallabhnagar, and Kurabad. The event will be held from March 21 to 23, with activities planned across various villages and community spaces. The event’s main goal is to ensure sustainable development of water resources in rural areas and to encourage the development of pastures.

The program will include street plays, puppet shows, cultural events, oaths for water and soil conservation, and essay writing, drawing, and morning processions in schools. Students will be awarded certificates and mementos for their participation. Several planting initiatives, labor contributions, and inaugurations of works will also take place, with awards for outstanding watershed workers. Women will also participate in a Kalash Yatra.

The State-Level Watershed Journey will move on to Rajsamand district after concluding the activities in Udaipur. 

**Message on Water Conservation Given at JaySamand**  
The Watershed Journey held an event at the JaySamand Panchayat Samiti on Thursday. District Council Member Lakshman Lal Meena chaired the event, highlighting the importance of water conservation. Chief Guest Daya Chand Yadav, along with other officials, shared details about the journey and the significance of the cause.
