Udaipur: As part of the United Nations' declared International Cooperative Year 2025, students from Government Higher Secondary School, Khemli, visited the Asna Village Service Cooperative Society in Mavli. Dr. Mehjabeen Bano, the Executive Officer of the Central Cooperative Bank, Udaipur, introduced the students to the concept of the Cooperative Year. The Branch Manager of the Fatehnagar branch spoke to the students, explaining the bank’s system and encouraging them to save.
The visit began with a warm welcome from the Committee President, Mangilal Dangi, who introduced the committee’s operations. Committee Administrator Mrs. Lakshmi Rao, along with staff members Priyanka Dangi, Nikita Jain, and Jayprakash Taylor, guided the students through various sections of the committee’s offices, warehouse, fertilizer sale center, and mini-bank, explaining their functions. During the mini-bank tour, the students learned about opening accounts, depositing and withdrawing money, and accessing lockers.
After the visit, Dr. Dharmesh Motwani gave a brief lecture on banking and the banking system in India, covering topics such as types of banks and various banking services. Senior official Mrs. Meena Nebhani also engaged with students, discussing what they had learned during the visit and addressing their queries.
In addition, a workshop on the *Gopal Credit Card Scheme* was held for committee members from the Fatehnagar region. Dr. Mehjabeen Bano explained the details of the scheme, which offers interest-free loans up to ₹1 lakh for livestock farmers in the area. Branch Manager Mr. Balmukund Khandelwal elaborated on the online application process and required documentation.
The workshop also saw participation from administrators of various cooperatives, including Bhairulal Gayri from Sindhu Village Cooperative, Shyam Singh Chauhan from Ghassa PACS, Lalit Vaishnav from Bhanasol GSS, Arvind Janwa from Entali GSS, Narayan Gayri from Madri GSS, and Babulal Dangi from Vijnavas GSS.
