Udaipur : As part of the five-day Maharana Bhupal Singh Jayanti celebrations organized by Lokjan Seva Sansthan, a grand poetry conference was held on the second day at Somani Auditorium, Shramjeevi College.
The event featured renowned poets Purushottam Pallav, Bhawani Shankar Gaur, Shayir Iqbal Sagar, Dr. Madhu Agrawal, and Dr. Himmat Singh Ujjwal, among others, who mesmerized the audience with their exceptional literary compositions.
The poetic session commenced with Saraswati Vandana by Dr. Vimal Sharma. Bhawani Shankar Gaur, Purushottam Pallav, and Iqbal Sagar presented powerful narratives reflecting their personal encounters with Maharana Bhupal Singh, transporting the audience to that historical era. Dr. Madhu Agrawal beautifully depicted the valor of Mewar’s brave women, while Dr. Himmat Singh Ujjwal’s poetry glorifying the Rajasthani language received immense appreciation.
Emerging poets like Gulzar Ahmed, Mohammad Farukh, Oman, and Dr. Anil Sharma also captivated the audience with their heartfelt performances.
On this occasion, Dr. Himmat Singh Ujjwal was honored with the "Uday Singh Samman" for his 30-year struggle in promoting Rajasthani literature and securing its recognition. He was presented with a certificate of honor, a memento, and a cash award.
According to Prof. Vimal Sharma, President of the institution, the event was presided over by former Vice-Chancellor Prof. Umashankar Sharma, with Brigadier Dr. Sawai Singh Jetawat and Prof. Mishrilal Mandot as special guests. Dr. Jai Raj Acharya introduced the institution and presented the keynote address, while General Secretary Jai Kishan Chaubey conducted the event, and Dilip Rawat delivered the vote of thanks.
The event was successfully organized with the dedicated contributions of Manohar Mundada, Dr. J.K. Ojha, Dr. Ramakant, Dr. Rajendra Nath Purohit, Sunil Tripathi, Rajmal Choudhary, Indra Singh Ranawat, Urmila Tripathi, Sapna Verma, and others.
