Union Minister of Dairy, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries Visits Udaipur Saras Dairy

Udaipur: The Union Minister of Dairy, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries, Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, conducted an in-depth visit to the Udaipur Saras Dairy. During the visit, Minister Baghel toured the dairy plant extensively, gaining insights into milk processing, quality control, and the production processes of dairy products such as ghee, buttermilk, lassi, paneer, shrikhand, flavored milk, kulfi, mawa, and peda. He also praised the efforts made by the Udaipur Dairy Federation.

During the plant tour, the Minister emphasized the need to increase dairy activities in villages, encourage more farmers to engage in the dairy business, and maintain high-quality standards for milk and dairy products.

The Union Minister stressed the adoption of new techniques and medicinal farming methods alongside traditional agriculture by livestock farmers. He also highlighted the importance of using sex-sorted semen artificial insemination techniques to ensure that over 90% of the calves born are of superior breed. He reiterated the government’s commitment to eliminating foot-and-mouth disease, mouth-and-hoof disease, and contagious bovine pleuropneumonia among livestock.

Minister Baghel appreciated the Rajasthan government’s budgetary allocation for a new dairy plant with a capacity of 3 lakh liters of milk per day and a 150-ton daily capacity animal feed plant for Udaipur. He also recommended holding a meeting soon with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) to discuss the exchange of new and advanced technologies in Rajasthan’s dairy sector.

The President of Udaipur Dairy Federation, Dalchand Dangi, and Managing Director, Vipin Sharma, warmly welcomed the Union Minister by draping him with a turban and shawl. President Dangi provided information about the facilities available to the public through the government via the Federation. Managing Director Vipin Sharma shared details about the various welfare programs for dairy producers and updated the Minister on the Federation's progress.

Officials from the Animal Husbandry Department and all section in-charges of the Federation were present at the event.
