Rotary Club Achievers Organizes Seminar on Social Security

Udaipur: Rotary Club Achievers organized an important seminar on Social Security at St. Anthony's School, located in Hirannmagri Sector 4. The seminar featured cyber expert Ashok Kalyani, along with Ashok Panwa and Gorav Dhana from the State Bank of India, who discussed key aspects of social media security, protection against cyber-attacks, and online safety.

Club President Dr. Jitendra Behl mentioned that the seminar was held at St. Anthony's School, Hirannmagri, and was attended by students from various schools in Udaipur, as well as local members of the Punjabi community. The objective of the seminar was to raise awareness about the importance of social security and provide necessary information on online safety.

The event was graced by Rotarians Dr. Jitendra Behl (President), Club Mentor Rotarian Madhu Sreen, Secretary Rotarian Himanshu Kaushal, Rotarian Alkes Pawar, Rotarian Pankaj Sharma, Rotarian Dr. Manswi Sreen, Rotarian Dr. Jyotsna Kumawat, along with cybersecurity experts. The experts and other speakers shared various ways and measures to prevent cybercrime with the students in attendance.

Cyber expert Ashok Kalyani emphasized that the only way to prevent cybercrime is through caution and awareness. He explained that cybercrimes come in various forms. Sometimes, unknown links arrive on mobile phones, and by accidentally opening them, individuals become victims of cybercrime. Similarly, on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, users may unintentionally open such unknown links and expose their personal information, making them vulnerable to cybercrime.

He also mentioned the common issue of receiving unknown phone calls, where fraudsters convince individuals to share OTPs (One-Time Passwords), allowing them to hack bank accounts or carry out fraudulent activities. He stressed that being cautious is the key to safeguarding oneself from such issues.

Kalyani added that cybercrimes like ATM fraud, debit/credit card fraud, and Paytm fraud are common, and these frauds happen due to a lapse in vigilance. He encouraged the community to unite and raise awareness to protect everyone. He also urged people to immediately report any cybercrime to the National Helpline number 130 or file an FIR with the police, regardless of the type of fraud.

Rotary Club of Udaipur Achievers, along with Club Patron Rotarian Madhu Sreen and President Rotarian Dr. Jitendra Behl, reiterated that their goal is to educate people about the importance of social security and provide them with the essential information needed for online safety.

Throughout the seminar, participants were encouraged to ask questions, and the experts provided valuable insights and answers. Rotary Club of Udaipur Achievers has made an effort to promote the importance of social security through this seminar and plans to organize similar events in the future.
