Discussion on Proposals for Restructuring of Gram Panchayats

Udaipur: Under the guidance of District Collector Namit Mehta, a discussion was held on the proposals for the restructuring of Gram Panchayats at the Mini Auditorium of the Collectorate on Wednesday. As per the instructions from the state government, the process of restructuring Gram Panchayats in the district began on 20th January. The deadline for preparing proposals for the new Gram Panchayats and Panchayat Samitis has been set for 18th February.

Additional District Collector (Administration) Deepender Singh Rathore discussed the restructuring proposals with each Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), emphasizing the need to adhere to the prescribed criteria while considering public sentiment. Based on the 2011 Census data, criteria for the restructuring, re-demarcation, and creation of new Gram Panchayats and Panchayat Samitis have been established. The prepared proposals will be published by 21st March, and objections will be invited.

During the meeting, proposals and grievances received were also discussed with the respective SDOs. Various important points such as the number of Gram Panchayats falling under TSP (Tribal Sub-Plan) or Non-TSP categories in each Panchayat Samiti, population data for each Gram Panchayat, and local sentiments were considered.

Present at the meeting were Girwa SDM Sonika Kumari, Trainee IAS officers Madhav Bhardwaj, Shubham Ashok, Mavli SDM Ramesh Seervi, Jhadol SDM Kapil Kothari, Gogunda SDM Naresh Soni, and Badgaon SDM Nirmala Vishnoi, along with all the Sub-Divisional Officers.
