Udaipur. On Wednesday, District Collector Namit Mehta was on an extensive tour of the tribal-majority areas of Jhadol and Falsia in the district. During the visit, he conducted surprise inspections of government offices, hostels, MGNREGA work sites, and other facilities.
The District Collector began his tour from the Circuit House and reached the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) office in Jhadol around 11 a.m. There, he gathered information from Sub-Divisional Officer Kapil Kothari about the region and interacted with the staff in each section. He inquired about the personnel involved in the Panchayat reorganization process and their responsibilities. During the inspection, he expressed dissatisfaction with the cleanliness and filing system in the office. He instructed the staff to organize everything and send photographs of the improved arrangement. Later, he directed the Sub-Divisional Officer and Development Officer to visit the operating offices in the area and ensure cleanliness and proper organization.
**Instructions to Blacklist Mate**
The District Collector also visited the waste collection center built along the river in the Gram Panchayat Magwas. There, he inspected ongoing work under MGNREGA. Upon questioning Mate Nanalal about the workers assigned to the site, their tasks, and management, he received unsatisfactory answers. As a result, the District Collector instructed the Development Officer to blacklist Mate Nanalal with immediate effect.
**Instructions to Prepare Proposals for Sports Ground Development**
The District Collector visited the school’s sports ground in Gram Panchayat Magwas and directed officials to prepare proposals for its development. He suggested using the examples of sports stadiums built in Pali district under the "Khelo Pali" campaign and emphasized that the largest school sports ground in every Gram Panchayat could be developed.
**Inspection of Tribal Hostel**
The District Collector also made an unscheduled visit to the tribal hostel operating in Falsia. The officials informed him that the existing building was being dismantled to make way for a new one, so the hostel was temporarily being run in the Dharamshala building of the CHC. Upon inspection, the Collector found the building too small for the number of students enrolled. He spoke to TAD Deputy Commissioner Ragini Damor over the phone and instructed her to find a more suitable building for the hostel and shift the students there. The Collector also visited the hostel kitchen and checked the food materials.
