Water Monitor Oath, Learning Water Conservation from Trees

In a ceremony held at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, near Magri Sector 4, water monitors from classes 6 to 12 were informed about their duties as Water Monitors by Water Friend Dr. P.C. Jain. He administered the Water Monitor Oath and encouraged the students to make water conservation a lifelong mission, turning it into a public awareness campaign.

In his PPT presentation, Dr. Jain emphasized that if we do not improve our water habits now and start practicing rainwater harvesting, we will face a severe water crisis in the future. He pointed out that just as trees like babul, neem, tamarind, and ber conserve water in their roots for future use, why can't we recharge our own tube wells and hand pumps to preserve groundwater? Should we not learn from trees?

Speaking about the growing issue of substance abuse, Dr. Jain highlighted the misconception in society that addiction is just a habit with no cure. He reassured the students that addiction is a disease, and with proper treatment, it can be overcome. He also shared some home remedies for addressing addiction.

The following students took the Water Monitor Oath: Mittal Trailer, Twinkle Rathore, Disha Salvi, Shravanti Hazar, Riddhi Bhavat, Bhumi Vaishnav, Krish Krishna Garg, Ankita Menaria, Divya Mali, Bhumi Talreja, Urmila Meena, Khushi Ranawat, Roshni Mochi, and Harshita Verma. Mamta Rathore served as the in-charge of the Water Monitors.

The program was conducted by Sanju Kumawat, and Principal Dr. Varsha Tripathi welcomed Dr. P.C. Jain to the event.
