Udaipur: The District Lake Conservation and Development Committee meeting was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of District Collector Namit Mehta.
Initially, Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Committee Member Secretary Ramprakash informed about the lakes notified under the State Lake Development Authority. The meeting focused on the proposals prepared by the Water Resources Department for the conservation of the Jaisamand Lake. District Collector Mehta mentioned that decisions would be made after a detailed review of the relevant circulars.
The meeting also discussed the operation of boats by hotel owners for passenger transportation on Fatehsagar and Pichola lakes, and the possibility of converting these boats to electric or solar-powered boats. The District Collector directed the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to hold a meeting with the relevant stakeholders and discuss all the facts related to this issue.
Regarding the operation time of the boats, the District Collector emphasized that decisions would be taken only after a thorough review of all circulars and orders. The meeting also discussed the financial accounts of the income generated from Fatehsagar and Pichola lakes, the necessary steps for lake conservation, and other related points.
The meeting was attended by UDA Secretary Hemendra Nagar, Chief Engineer of Water Resources Department Manoj Jain, Deputy Director of Tourism Shikha Saxena, Pollution Control Board representative Payal Pancholi, Additional Director of Fisheries Dr. Deepika Paliwal, Executive Engineer of Water Resources Department, Salumber Prateek Chaudhary, Executive Engineer (Mechanical) of Municipal Corporation Lakhanlal Bairwa, among others.
