Udaipur: On the death anniversary of freedom fighter, Constituent Assembly member, first Lok Sabha MP, and founder president of Mewar Prajamandal, Master Balwant Singh Mehta, a tribute ceremony was held on Friday. On this occasion, Pankaj Kumar Sharma, General Secretary and Spokesperson of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee, paid floral tributes at his memorial site on Rani Road.
The tribute ceremony was attended by Master Balwant Singh Mehta's sons Bhagwant Singh Mehta, Rajeev Mehta, daughter-in-law Basant Mehta, Jagat Singh Mehta, Pratap Singh Rathore, Kapil Vaseeta, Pramod Verma, Someshwar Sharma, Kamlesh Nayak, Himmat Singh Rathore, Chitrul Devasi, and other officers and dignitaries from various organizations.
**Seminar Held at Congress Media Center**
Earlier, a seminar was organized at the Congress Media Center in Rakshabandhan Dhanmandi, where floral tributes were offered at Master Balwant Singh Mehta’s photograph. Addressing the seminar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma stated that Master Balwant Singh Mehta, born in Udaipur, was not only a freedom fighter but also a social activist and a motivator of political awareness. He led the Pratap Sabha and played a key role in the Quit India Movement.
After independence, he was elected as a member of the Constituent Assembly and also served as the president of the Bharat Sevak Samaj. Through his efforts, a Tribal Student Hostel was established in Udaipur. His contributions to society and love for the nation continue to inspire today’s youth.
On this occasion, several dignitaries including Mukesh Jat, Kapil Vaseeta, Mukesh Vaishnav, Vijay Pandiyar, Jamnagiri, Prithviraj Gayri, and Chitrul Devasi were present. All paid tribute to Master Balwant Singh Mehta by remembering his contributions.
