Udaipur MP Announces Major Gift for Kayaking Players

Udaipur, January 2: Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat has announced a major gift for the city's kayaking players, declaring that a rescue boat worth ₹15 lakh will be provided to them. This announcement was made by MP Rawat during the send-off ceremony of the team heading to the Dragon Boat National Competition, which will be held in Delhi from January 3 to 6, 2025.

Chairman of the Rajasthan Kayaking and Canoeing Association, Shri Chandragupt Singh Chauhan, and Chairman of the Rajasthan Dragon Boat Team, Ajay Agarwal, informed that the Rajasthan team has been selected for the competition, and the players have been training for about a month at the kayaking and dragon boat training center located at Fatehsagar Lake under the guidance of coach Shri Nishchay Singh Chauhan.

Rajasthan Kayaking and Canoeing Association President, R.K. Dhabhai, stated that the team left for Delhi on January 1. Shri Nishchay Singh Chauhan has been appointed as the team's head coach.

During the ceremony, MP Rawat, upon hearing the players' achievements, expressed his happiness and announced the provision of a rescue motor boat to assist with technical needs and emergencies during training. He also assured that a Water Sports Academy would soon be opened at Fatehsagar Lake, providing international-level facilities to the players, enabling them to bring medals and honor to Udaipur and Rajasthan on the global stage.

Secretary of the Association, Mahesh Pimpalkar, mentioned that around 20-25 teams from across India, including prominent teams from the Indian Army, BSF, CRPF, SSCB, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh, will be participating in the competition. Rajasthan's players will compete in senior men's, senior women's, and senior mixed events.

The ceremony was attended by Rajasthan Kayaking and Canoeing Association officials, including Vice President Bhagwan Swaroop Vaishnav, Secretary Mahesh Pimpalkar, Chairman of the Rajasthan Dragon Boat Association Ajay Agarwal, Slalom Chairman Naval Singh Chundawat, Technical Advisor and Coach Nishchay Singh Chauhan, Deepak Gupta, and the parents of the players.
