Udaipur: On the fifth day of the event organized by the Western Region Cultural Centre at the open-air stage of Hawala-Shilpgram, dancers performed the Gotipua dance from Odisha, a devotional dance performed to please Lord Jagannath. The acrobatic style of the performance left the audience amazed and earned much applause. The traditional Mewari Gher dance also entertained the crowd to the fullest.
Bhoongar Khan and Party enthralled the audience with their mesmerizing Manganiyar singing, filling the atmosphere with a Sufi vibe, while presenting Rajasthani folk music in their unique style. The Pung Dhol Chelam dance from Manipur, accompanied by the distinctive dhol, captured the audience’s attention with its graceful movements. Additionally, the folk dance Raibens from the Birbhum, Bardhaman, and Murshidabad districts of West Bengal, showcasing a fusion of acrobatics, martial arts, and folk traditions, thrilled the crowd.
The Natua Dance from West Bengal also beautifully combined folk art and acrobatic techniques. Traditional Indian games like Malakhamb drew loud applause from the audience.
Alongside these folk dances, the Gujarati tribal Rathwa dance was highly exciting, and the Shimla's Sirmouri Nati dance won over the audience. Kashmir’s folk dance Rouf, with dancers’ coordination to the song "Bumro Bumro Shyam Rang Bumro," delighted everyone. The Dhediya dance from Uttar Pradesh created a Ram-like atmosphere, and Rajasthan’s famous Bhavai dance left folk art lovers amazed with its thrilling stunts, receiving standing ovations for each beautiful performance. West Bengal’s Purulia Chhau folk dance also captivated the hearts of art enthusiasts.
In addition to these dances, the performances of Bhurupiya and Mime (Mukabhinay) kept the audience entertained and laughing. The event started with a mesmerizing Nagada performance, and Jumma Khan’s Bhang music enchanted the folk art lovers.

Furkan Khan, Director of the Western Region Cultural Centre, mentioned that tomorrow’s performance would include folk dances like Kavadhi Kargam (Tamil Nadu), Sambalpuri (Odisha), Bihu (Assam), as well as Haryana’s Ghoomar dance. Additionally, Manipur’s Thangta and Stick dance will feature exciting martial arts performances.
