Traditional Mask-Making Workshop Concludes at Shilpgram

Udaipur : The ten-day traditional mask-making workshop organized by the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, concluded on Wednesday at Shilpgram.

Director of the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, Furqan Khan, shared that around 12 artists participated in the workshop. Artists from Udaipur, Bundi, Gujarat, Mumbai, and Telangana created traditional masks ranging from 3 to 6 feet in size, using materials such as fiber, iron, and papier-mâché. These masks were decorated with vibrant colors and crafted from a variety of materials, including clay, cloth, bamboo, bamboo baskets, paper, tamarind seed flour, thread, and Fevicol. The masks, representing folk artists and tribal communities, were intricately carved.

The artists shared their experiences from the ten-day workshop and expressed interest in participating in similar workshops in the future. At the conclusion of the workshop, all artists were awarded certificates. The event was attended by Bhupendra Kothari, Hemant Mehta, and Sandeep Paliwal from the Centre.
