Udaipur, 14th November – On the occasion of Children’s Day, marking the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, a Cultural Fair 2024 was organized at the campus of Lokmanya Tilak Teacher Training College, a constituent institution of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth.
The fair was held with the aim of familiarizing student-teachers with their future professional responsibilities and Indian traditions. The event was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot, Prof. Sandeep Bhatt from Sardar Patel University, Gujarat, and Principal Prof. Saroj Garg, who lit the lamp and cut the ribbon in front of the statue of Goddess Saraswati.
Students from the college’s B.Ed, B.Ed (Child Development), B.A.B.Ed/B.Sc.B.Ed, and D.El.Ed programs set up 27 stalls offering a wide variety of food items including Rajasthani dishes like Dal-Bati, Rava, South Indian Idli-Sambar, Appes, and Momos, along with popular snacks like Chaat, Pakodi, Tea, and Shikanji.
On this occasion, Prof. Sarangdevot emphasized the health benefits of traditional foods amidst the changing lifestyle and stressed the need to return to our ancient dietary practices.
The fair was attended by various faculty members including Dr. Rachna Rathore, Dr. Balidan Jain, Dr. Ami Rathore, Dr. Sunita Murdia, as well as administrative staff, a large number of students, and parents, who all enjoyed the cultural and culinary delights of the event.
