Udaipur's First Khatu Shyam Temple Celebrates Daily Worship in Khatu Style

Grand Celebration of Khatu Shyam Baba’s Birth Anniversary at Tekri Temple

Udaipur, The grand birth anniversary of Shri Khatu Shyam Baba will be celebrated with great enthusiasm on November 12 at the Raj Rajeshwar Temple located in the Tekri Police Line area. The temple committee has announced that a grand bhajan evening will also be part of the celebrations.

According to the temple's press release, the event will coincide with Ekadashi, making it a special occasion for devotees. This will be the first time that Baba’s birth anniversary is being celebrated at the Tekri temple following the Patotsav (consecration ceremony) of the temple. The temple committee and volunteers are preparing enthusiastically for the event, ensuring a grand celebration.

Special flowers have been brought from Delhi to decorate Baba’s shrine on a swing, and a special 56 bhog (food offering) will be presented to Baba. To serenade Baba with devotional songs, Maya Chauhan, Baba Shyam's beloved sister from Mandsaur, will be performing, alongside local artists Prateek Maheshwari, Bhavna Sharma, Lata Soni, Pankaj Bhandari, Subhash Garg, and Puneet, who will offer their devotional bhajans.

The event’s preparations are being managed by Rakesh Mundda, Dinesh Gupta, Manish Gupta, Prateek Maheshwari, and other committee members.

It is noteworthy that the Khatu Shyam Baba Temple at the Raj Rajeshwar Mahadev Temple complex at Tekri Police Line is the first in Udaipur to conduct daily worship in the traditional style of Khatu, with grand kirtans (devotional songs) held on both Ekadashi days each month. Local devotees of the Shyam Sakha Mandali regularly organize programs at the temple, making it a vibrant center of spiritual activity in the region.
