Mewar's Mandan Sutradhaar Credited with Writing the Most Architectural Texts: Laddha

Udaipur : Renowned architect Sunil Laddha stated that Mewar is home to the largest number of architectural texts, crediting the sutradhaar Mandan for this achievement. His works are available in libraries both nationally and internationally.

Laddha shared these insights as the chief speaker at a discussion held on World Architecture Day at the Workspace Design Studio in Sapetia. He highlighted Mewar's rich architectural tradition and Mandan Sutradhaar's contributions, mentioning that translations and edits of significant texts such as "Samarangana Sutradhara," "Aparajita Prichha," "Rajavallabha Vastu Shastra," and "Vishwakarma Vastu Shastra" were completed in Udaipur.

He noted that scholars in Mewar have recently renewed their focus on these texts in the 21st century. Professor Bhanwar Sharma, belonging to the Vashisht clan, and renowned historian Dr. Shrikrishna Jugnu have translated and edited Mandan and other sutradhaar's works into Hindi and English.

During the discussion, Rajat Meghnani and craftsman Hemant Joshi emphasized that architectural principles form the foundation of prosperity for every home and family. Meghnani pointed out that the Kumbhalgarh Fort is an extraordinary example of architecture and hailed Mandan Sutradhaar's expertise in architectural science and principles as a global achievement for India.

Other participants in the discussion included architects Saurabh Doshi, Vivek Raj, Priyanka Kothari, Bhavesh Purohit, Jinal Jain, Darshan Asavat, Phalgun Vyas, Tanuja Kataria, Neelofar Munir, Niharika Jain, Harshit Jain, Jyoti Pawar, and Jugal Joshi, among others, who also shared their thoughts.
