Celebration of Centenarian Voters on International Day of Older Persons

Udaipur . On the occasion of International Day of Older Persons, centenarian voters were honored across all eight assembly constituencies of the district, following the directives of the Election Commission of India.

Under the guidance of District Election Officer Arvind Poswal and Sub-District Election Officer Deependra Singh Rathore, ceremonies were held at the headquarters of the Electoral Registration Officers in Gogunda, Jhadol, Kherwada, Udaipur Rural, Udaipur City, Vallabhnagar, Mavli, and Salumber assembly areas. Voters who have reached the age of 100 were welcomed with traditional turbans and shawls, and they were presented with certificates of honor from the Election Commission. During these events, speakers emphasized the vital role of voters in democracy, stating that senior voters are the heritage of democracy and their respect is synonymous with the respect for democracy itself.

### Home Visits for Recognition

In accordance with the Election Commission's guidelines, senior voters were honored throughout the district on Tuesday. Many centenarian voters could not attend the ceremonies due to health reasons, prompting electoral officials and booth-level officers to visit their homes to confer the honors. The faces of these voters and their families lit up with joy upon receiving the recognition. Families expressed their gratitude to the administration and the Election Commission for this initiative.
