Lottery Drawn for Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme 2024

Udaipur– A lottery was held on Monday for beneficiaries of the Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme 2024-25, managed by the Department of Devasthan, under the direction of District Collector Arvind Poswal and chaired by ADM Administration Deependra Singh Rathore.

The lottery took place at the IT and Communications Department office within the collectorate premises, where ADM Rathore pressed a button on the computer to draw the names of selected pilgrims from Udaipur district. Jatin Gandhi, Additional Commissioner of the Devasthan Department, reported that a total of 5,358 applications were submitted, representing 9,223 individuals including applicants and their companions.

Through the lottery, 218 beneficiaries were selected for air travel, and 1,089 for rail travel, making a total of 1,307 beneficiaries. Waitlists for air and rail travel were also created, comprising 218 and 1,089 individuals, respectively. ADM Rathore extended best wishes to all selected travelers. Additional Superintendent of Police Madhuri, CMHO Dr. Shankarlal Bamaniya, and Joint Director of DOIT Ms. Sheetal Agarwal were also present at the event.

It is noteworthy that the Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme includes 15 religious sites across the country for rail travel, where beneficiaries are provided free travel to one site based on their preferences. For air travel, the destination is Pashupatinath in Kathmandu, Nepal.
