'World Tourism Day' and Maharana Jagat Singh II's Birthday Celebrated at City Palace

Udaipur | This year’s World Tourism Day theme, "Tourism and Peace," was brought to life at the City Palace Museum, organized by the Maharana Meva Charitable Foundation.

Dr. Mayank Gupta, the CEO of the foundation, explained that to make World Tourism Day special, a sketch of the City Palace Museum was prepared and displayed on boards for tourists from across the country and the world. Visitors were invited to fill in the sketch with colors, making it more appealing.

When speaking to tourists about the event, many expressed that Udaipur is renowned for its heritage and natural beauty. They shared that they felt a sense of peace while engaging in this artistic activity in the grand heritage sketch. This indeed aligns with the World Tourism Day theme of "Tourism and Peace."

In addition to this event, the 315th birthday of Maharana Jagat Singh II, the 62nd Diwan of Mewar, was also celebrated. In the Rai Angan of the City Palace Museum, rituals were performed with chanting of mantras, and offerings were made to his portrait, followed by lighting of lamps. Historical information alongside images was displayed for tourists visiting the City Palace.

Such events organized by the foundation aim to foster global cooperation among visitors, promoting respect for ancient heritage and culture as well as their preservation.
