Nihar Shanti Pathshala Funwala Paves the Way to Education for Sana

Udaipur: "A job can give you money, but education gives you respect," says Sana from Ramgarh village in Alwar, where women face many restrictions and are not allowed to work outside. After completing her 12th grade, Sana got married, and her dream of pursuing further education remained unfulfilled. However, her passion for education found a way, and after seven years, she reignited her desire to learn. Sana believes that Nihar Shanti Pathshala Funwala showed her the path to further education.

Sharing her story of struggle and determination, Sana said, "On one hand, my mother believed that girls should manage the household and didn't need much education. On the other hand, I was fortunate that my mother-in-law respected my desire to study and contribute to the family's income. Today, when people call me 'Ma'am,' the proudest person is my mother-in-law. Nihar Shanti Pathshala Funwala showed me the way to further education."

When asked why she chose the English course at Nihar Shanti Pathshala Funwala, Sana said, "English is a language that people like us fear. I was also afraid of English during my studies. What better way to overcome this fear? Today, I have gained confidence and teach English to 30 children in my village. I have also inspired other women in the village to take this course because if they learn, they can teach more children in the village. For the future of the children, women should join this course. There was a time when I didn't know how to use a smartphone or WhatsApp, but I learned everything for this digital course. My in-laws fully supported me with household chores and taking care of the children. Now, I want to continue my education even more."

"Today, I am teaching, earning, and making a good income every month. I now earn as much in a month as I used to earn in an entire year when I used to work in the fields harvesting wheat, earning just ₹5,000 annually. Now, I earn ₹5,000 every month. Along with farming, I have another source of income, which has increased my earnings. With a stable income, dreams start to take shape. I bought a smartphone with my money. Now, I can send my children to better schools. They are currently studying in Hindi medium, but I want to educate them in English medium. I want to install an inverter at home. We have a motorcycle now, but I aspire to buy a car in the future."
