Udaipur - The 35th Diwali Lights Campaign began with much enthusiasm and a spirit of giving, where students and members of various organizations, including Alok Foundation, Alok Interact Club, Alok Social Service Wing, and the Rotary Club of Udaipur, distributed Diwali sweets, fireworks, portraits of Goddess Lakshmi, utensils, shoes, toys, and more to children and rural residents in remote areas.
Dr. Pradeep Kumawat, the Director of Alok Foundation, emphasized the need for empathy, not sympathy, towards those living in remote areas. He highlighted how Alok Foundation has been tirelessly working for the past 34 years to share the joy of Diwali with the children and rural communities in areas accessible only by foot.
During the event, students from Alok Interact Club engaged with rural children, playing various games and sharing prasad. Dr. Pradeep Kumawat also conducted Laughter Yoga sessions for the children, promoting awareness of healthy habits such as proper handwashing and a healthy lifestyle.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from local school principals Rekha Gurjar, Manju Kumari, and Surendra Paliwal, who greeted all the guests.
