Election Process Highly Sensitive, No Room for Error: District Election Officer

Udaipur: In preparation for the upcoming Legislative Assembly General Elections 2023, a second district-level training program for Returning Officers, Sector Officers, and Sector Police Officers was organized on Friday at the Sukhadia Rangmanch Auditorium by District Election Officer Arvind Poswal, under the guidance of the Election Commission.

Addressing the training, District Election Officer and Collector Arvind Kumar Poswal emphasized the extreme sensitivity of the election process, stating that there is no tolerance for even a one percent error. He urged all concerned officers to thoroughly study the Election Commission's guidelines and carry out their duties accordingly. He also provided detailed guidance on the role of Sector Officers, election expenditure monitoring, and adherence to the Model Code of Conduct, among other aspects of the election process.

District Police Superintendent Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav highlighted the importance of identifying sensitive areas and keeping a close watch on undesirable activities. He instructed all Sector Officers to be vigilant about any unlawful activities.

The training course was supervised by Training Coordinator and Registrar of Stamps Jitendra Ojha, who provided information on vulnerability mapping, legal provisions, the responsibilities of Sector Officers, and the Model Code of Conduct, among other topics. Additional District Magistrate Administration Shailendra Surana and ADM City Rajeev Dwivedi also provided guidance during the training.

State-level master trainer and Training Coordinator Dr. Mahamayaprasad Chaubisa imparted knowledge about the latest technology in the polling process. Practical training included mock polling, actual polling, sealing of electronic voting machines (EVMs), home voting, different components of the Returning Officer's report, and the sealing of envelopes with various information to be submitted at the counting center.

The training was attended by Returning Officers, Sector Officers, Sector Police Officers, and other officials from all Assembly constituencies in the district.
