Students Gain Insight into Cooperative Banking Activities

Udaipur,  As part of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, students from Mahatma Gandhi Government Higher Secondary School visited the Udaipur Central Cooperative Bank’s head office and Girwa branch on Monday.

The visit commenced with a warm welcome from the bank’s Managing Director, Animesh Purohit, who explained the banking system in simple terms. Additional Registrar of the Cooperative Department, Udaipur, Gunjal Chaubey, emphasized the importance of savings in life and encouraged students to enhance their financial literacy. Deputy Registrar Lokesh Joshi elaborated on the principles of cooperatives and inspired students to benefit from the cooperative movement in the future.

Dr. Dharmesh Motwani led the students through various sections of the bank, including the loan, accounts, committee, statistics, IT, and legal departments, providing insights into their functions. During the Girwa branch visit, Acting Branch Manager Jay Prakash Jeengar explained essential banking operations such as opening accounts, deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, and locker services.

Following the bank tour, Dr. Dharmesh Motwani delivered a brief lecture on “Banking and Banks,” highlighting the structure of the banking sector in India and various banking services. Executive Officer Dr. Mehjabeen Bano engaged with students in a discussion about their learnings from the visit and addressed their queries.

At the end of the session, students shared their experiences on stage. The event was attended by teachers Anjana Vyas and Bhavana Paliwal, along with bank officials K.L. Sharma, Hitesh Panchal, Vaibhav Gaur, Prince Gehlot, Rupesh Mehra, and R.S. Pawar.
