Udaipur: District Collector Namit Mehta conducted a city tour on Tuesday, during which he reviewed various works carried out through Smart City Limited. Accompanied by City MLA Tarachand Jain, he inspected the beautification work along the Ayad River, evaluated the encroachments identified along the river's boundary, and gave necessary instructions. Additionally, he visited the Municipal Corporation's Transfer Station, Kishanpol, and the Water Treatment Plant located at Machhla Magra.
The District Collector began his tour at around 9 AM from the Circuit House. He was joined by Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash and Smart City CEO Pradeepsingh Sangavat. The Collector first visited the Ayad Bridge, where MLA Tarachand Jain was also present. The Collector and the MLA walked down to the riverbed on the left side and reviewed the beautification works done by the Smart City initiative. During the inspection, officials provided details about the completed beautification works. The District Collector instructed the maintenance and cleaning contractor to begin cleaning around the riverbed and the newly constructed pathway. He also mentioned that a follow-up inspection would be conducted in a week.
MLA Jain then took the District Collector to the Ayad River stretch from Ayad Bridge to CPS School and further to the river boundary, where encroachments had been identified. The Collector instructed the concerned officials to form a committee to thoroughly check the documents of the involved parties.
Next, the District Collector visited the Municipal Corporation’s Transfer Station, located behind the Bus Stand. He gathered detailed information about waste collection and segregation processes.
**Inspection of Development Works at Kishanpol Door**
The District Collector also visited Kishanpol Door, where Smart City CEO Pradeepsingh Sangavat briefed him about the ongoing development works. The Collector inspected the police station operating at Kishanpol and emphasized the need to remove vehicles parked inside the gate by the police. He discussed the matter with the District Police Superintendent and suggested necessary actions. Furthermore, he directed the authorities to ensure proper utilization of the Open Auditorium built at the historic Kishanpol site.
**Water Treatment Plant Inspection**
Lastly, the District Collector visited the Smart City Limited’s Water Treatment Plant at Machhla Magra. He obtained detailed information regarding the water supply, the plant's capacity, operational technology, and future needs. He also enjoyed a panoramic view of the city from the plant's rooftop and gathered information about key locations across the city.
The inspection was attended by Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash, Smart City CEO Pradeepsingh Sangavat, ACEO KP Singh Chouhan, Municipal SE Mukesh Pujari, Executive Engineer Dinesh Pancholi, and other senior officials.
