Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra Discusses By-elections and BJP’s Governance at Press Conference in Udaipur

Udaipur, : Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee President, Govind Singh Dotasra, addressed a press conference in Udaipur where he discussed the ongoing seven by-elections in the state. Dotasra expressed that Congress workers are filled with enthusiasm and that the people of Rajasthan have decided to bring the Congress back to power. He alleged that the people are frustrated with the BJP government, which has been in power for the past ten months and has failed to fulfill any of its promises.

Dotasra criticized the BJP government, accusing it of spending the last ten months attacking Congress leaders rather than focusing on governance. He specifically pointed out that BJP had discontinued popular welfare schemes initiated by the Congress government, such as the Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Health Scheme, English Medium Schools, Indira Rasoi Yojana, and Annapurna Packet Yojana. Additionally, he blamed the government for not addressing issues like broken roads, compensation for crops damaged by heavy rainfall, and delayed electricity connections and waivers.

Targeting the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Dotasra remarked that his speeches were repetitive, lacking any new plans or discussions on public concerns. He also accused the BJP government of promoting corruption, alleging that contracts and tenders were being handed over to people from Gujarat. He further claimed that land had been allocated to Adani Group in five cabinet meetings.

On the Congress performance in the upcoming by-elections, Dotasra stated that the BJP is currently in a position of decline and is failing to earn the trust of the people. He pointed out that the BJP had not been able to conduct Panchayati Raj or Municipal elections. Dotasra emphasized that Congress was contesting the by-elections in Chaurasi and Salumbar with unity, and had fielded a new young leader in Chaurasi as part of a fresh approach.

Addressing the BAP Party, Dotasra explained that while Congress had supported BAP in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections to help remove the BJP from power, the BAP should not have the misconception that the public exclusively favors them. He added that it would be difficult for the BAP to replicate its performance from the previous state elections.

In response to a question about the alleged displeasure of Raghubir Singh Meena, Dotasra clarified that he had spoken with Meena, who had assured him that the Congress party is like a mother to him, and that he would contest the elections with full dedication and integrity.

Earlier in the press conference, Dotasra expressed condolences over the passing of Maharaja Mahendra Singh Ji. The press conference was also attended by Rajasthan Congress General Secretary and Spokesperson Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Dinesh Khodnia, and Raj Singh Jhala.
