Udaipur: Public Health Engineering and Groundwater Department Minister **Shri Kanhaiyalal** emphasized the state government's commitment to providing clean drinking water to every citizen under the leadership of Chief Minister **Bhajanlal Sharma**. He stated that there is no water shortage in Udaipur, nor any budgetary issues for water supply management, and urged officials to ensure efficient operations to deliver water to the public. He warned that negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
The Minister was addressing a review meeting on Saturday at the Zila Parishad Auditorium in Udaipur, focused on drinking water schemes and the summer action plan for the districts of Udaipur, Rajsamand, and Salumber.
He noted that with the rising summer temperatures, surface water sources will start depleting and groundwater levels will drop. In anticipation, a summer contingency plan has already been prepared, and the necessary budget has been allocated. The Minister directed officials to maintain the systems efficiently to ensure uninterrupted water supply. He stressed the immediate completion of sanctioned hand pump and borewell installations.
The Minister also reviewed various departmental schemes, Chief Minister’s budget announcements, and gave necessary instructions after examining each point in detail.

### Concerns Over Delays in *Jal Jeevan Mission*
The Minister expressed displeasure over the slow progress of *Jal Jeevan Mission* works in all three districts. He instructed the officials to expedite the completion of ongoing projects. Addressing the issue of illegal water connections, he directed the immediate disconnection of such connections and strict action against those responsible.
He also called for tough measures against contractors failing to deliver on their commitments. Furthermore, he instructed that completed projects under the mission should be handed over to **village-level committees**, with guidelines for the same to be issued soon.
