In Udaipur, the Pratap Gaurav Centre has decided to construct a recharge well for rainwater harvesting, and the work began on Tuesday.

**About the Campaign**
The "Water Conservation – Public Participation" campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 6, 2024, in Surat, Gujarat. Through this campaign, rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, borewell recharge, and construction of recharge shafts are being implemented with the help of both government and non-government resources. The Government of India has also launched programs such as the Jal Shakti Abhiyan, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA), and the Atal Bhujal Yojana, aimed at promoting water conservation and rainwater harvesting. Through these collective efforts, widespread awareness will be created, and a target of constructing 1 million structures will be achieved.

Under this initiative, the state of Rajasthan has set a target of constructing 45,000 water conservation structures. Currently, 337 projects are proposed in the districts of Sirohi, Pali, Jodhpur, Bhilwara, Jhunjhunu, Jaipur, and Bikaner. Of these, 64 projects have been completed, and 273 are in progress. These projects include the construction of check dams, percolation tanks, and recharge wells.
