76th Republic Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm in Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer: The 76th Republic Day of 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and dignity across the district on Sunday. The district-level main ceremony was held at the Shaheed Poonamsingh Stadium located at the foothills of Sonar Fort, where the chief guest, District Collector Pratap Singh, hoisted the flag. He also inspected the parade in an open jeep and took the salute of the march-past. The parade, led by Parade Commander Reserve Police Sub-Inspector Meenakshi Malviya, featured contingents from the police, Border Home Guard, Urban Home Guard, NCC, NCC Women’s Wing, Scouts, Girl Guides, and other groups marching past the main stage, saluting the chief guest.

The ceremony was attended by Jaisalmer MLA Chhotu Singh Bhati, District Police Superintendent Sudhir Chaudhary, Additional District Collector Pawan Kumar, Chief Executive Officer Sunita Chaudhary, former MLA Dr. Jitendra Singh, social workers Pawan Kumar Singh, Himmatram Chaudhary, Gamersingh, Moolaram Chaudhary, Chutararam Prajapat, along with local representatives, district-level officials, media personnel, and residents of the town.

**Awards and Honors**

District Collector Pratap Singh, MLA Chhotu Singh Bhati, and Police Superintendent Sudhir Chaudhary congratulated everyone on Republic Day. On this occasion, 46 individuals who had performed outstanding work in various fields were honored with certificates of appreciation and mementos. The ceremony also recognized the gallantry award winners and the widows of martyrs. Additionally, the winners of the Veergatha Project 4.0 competition were awarded certificates.

**Governor’s Message**

Additional District Collector Pawan Kumar read the message from the Honorable Governor during the ceremony. The students of Kishani Devi Maganiram Mohataraj Government Girls Senior Secondary School performed a beautiful traditional Ghoomar dance from Rajasthan, under the guidance of teachers Mrs. Sayari Chauhan, Mrs. Rashmi Acharya, and Mrs. Pooja Harvani.

**Impressive Physical Exercise Display**

The ceremony was further enlivened by the melodious tunes of the police band, and a mass physical exercise performance by 800 students from 18 government and private schools in the city. This performance was prepared under the supervision of Physical Education Instructors, including Prabhari Virendra Singh and Co-Prabhari Deep Singh.

**Tableaux Presentations**

On the occasion of Republic Day, the Jaisalmer Municipal Council presented impressive tableaux depicting themes like cleanliness, Annapurna kitchen, communal harmony center, and more. The Public Health Engineering Department presented a tableau on the Jal-Jeevan Mission, the Health Department showcased the Chief Minister’s Ayushman Arogya Yojana, the Women and Child Development Department highlighted Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, and girls' education and health, the District Election Department showcased voter awareness, and the Panchayat Samiti displayed the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme for rural areas. The tableaux were judged, and the Women and Child Development Department’s tableau took first place, followed by the Municipal Council’s tableau in second, and the Public Health Engineering Department’s tableau in third. The winners of the tableau competition were presented awards by the guests.

Among those present at the Republic Day celebrations were Deputy Police Superintendent Rupsingh Inda, Treasury Officer Deravarsingh Rathore, Municipal Commissioner Lajpal Singh Sodha, Tehsildar Parsmal Rathore, Chief District Education Officer Shankar Singh Udawat, District Education Officer Secondary Ramniwas Sharma, Chief Engineer of Public Health Engineering K.C. Meena, Deputy Director of Women’s Empowerment Ashok Goyal, Sports Officer Rakesh Vishnoi, and others. The event was hosted by lecturers Mrs. Aarti Mishra and Narendra Vasu.
