Udaipur: Bringing rights to the marginalized or ensuring the government’s welfare schemes reach those in need is also a humanitarian task. Volunteer organizations should work in this way and change their working style to prioritize India first, said Nimbaram, a regional pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), while addressing a one-day meeting of volunteer organizations on the occasion of World Human Rights Day. The workshop for volunteer organizations was organized at Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University, Udaipur, with participation from the heads of 25 volunteer organizations from Rajasthan.
On this occasion, Nimbaram stated that the foundation of any organization should not be based on individuals, but on a team, as only then will the work move in the right direction and achieve long-term success. He emphasized that any work benefiting society and the nation is valuable.
Manoj Kumar, while introducing the program, emphasized that volunteer organizations should work with the objective of "India First." He suggested that focusing on this goal would raise awareness in society and ensure that the government’s schemes reach the last person.
Dr. Meena Kumari, Associate Director of the Deendayal Research Institute, was a speaker at the workshop. She explained the crucial role of NGOs in reaching government schemes to the people. She highlighted that the internet is an essential tool for spreading awareness about the work being done in society. Dr. Kumari also shared insights on how NGOs can regularly engage in activities in specific areas and collaborate with relevant departments by submitting proposals and working with various research institutions. She provided detailed information on the requirements for effective NGO implementation, such as offices, audits, staff for content creation, and interns.
Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot, Vice-Chancellor of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University, who chaired the session, stated that such workshops undoubtedly improve the efficiency of NGO work and provide clarity on how to proceed. He also emphasized the importance of research and discussed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948.
Development Chhajed from the Moti Foundation presented a case study, sharing research and reports on how some volunteer organizations work to divide society, spread discord, and create false narratives through ecosystems.
Manoj Kumar, summarizing the program, suggested that more focus should be placed on monthly activities, documentation, and coordination.
The program was conducted by Vikas Tank from Udbhavti Foundation, Ajmer.
Other participants who shared their thoughts included Kantilal Patidar from Dungarpur, Bhagirath Chaudhary from Barmer, Hardayal from Jaipur, and Parul Tyagi, among others.
It is worth noting that this was the second annual one-day meeting of NGOs working in Rajasthan with the goal of spreading awareness focused on "India First" and helping the deprived benefit from government schemes. The first meeting was held on December 10, 2023, in Jaipur on the occasion of World Human Rights Day.
