Rising Rajasthan: Investment Prospects Shine in Salumber District

Udaipur : A one-day Rising Rajasthan Summit at the district level was held on Wednesday at the Lavkush Educational Institute in Salumber. The chief guest for the event was Salumber MLA Mrs. Shantadevi Amritlal Meena, while the session was presided over by Divisional Commissioner and District In-charge Secretary, Ms. Pragya Kevalramani. The event was led by District Collector Jasmeet Singh Sandhu.

MLA Mrs. Shantadevi Amritlal Meena extended her congratulations on the signing of 11 MOUs at the district level during the summit and called the Rising Rajasthan Summit in Salumber a milestone in fulfilling the vision of a developed Rajasthan and India as envisioned by the Honorable Prime Minister and Chief Minister. Divisional Commissioner Ms. Pragya Kevalramani highlighted the state government's industrial promotion and trade policies, and congratulated the potential investors for choosing Salumber for their investments.

District Collector Sandhu spoke about various state government schemes, including the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme 2024 under the Ease of Doing Business initiative, the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Program, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Dalit Tribal Enterprise Promotion Scheme, the MSMED Act of 2019, and the Prime Minister Vishwakarma Scheme. He also provided details about the proposed new industrial areas in Salumber and Semari and assured entrepreneurs of full support from the administration and other departments for investment in the district.

Ram Murari from Hindustan Zinc Limited shared insights about future investments in Salumber, while marble entrepreneur Pradeep Lunawat discussed his views on Onyx Marble. Dr. Narendra Kumar Khatik spoke about the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Dalit Tribal Enterprise Promotion Scheme. During the program, a poster showcasing Salumber district was also unveiled. Shailendra Sharma, General Manager of the District Industry and Commerce Centre Udaipur and Special Officer for Salumber, provided information about the Rising Rajasthan Summit and encouraged young entrepreneurs and investors to invest in Salumber district.

A total of 11 investors presented investment proposals amounting to ₹195 crore, and 10 entrepreneurs expressed their interest in investing in various sectors during the summit. To date, 32 MOUs have been signed under Rising Rajasthan in Salumber, with proposals for an investment of ₹503 crore, which will create employment opportunities for around 1,400 people.

The majority of the MOUs have been received in the education sector, followed by proposals in mining, healthcare, tourism, and other sectors. During the event, MOUs were exchanged with the entrepreneurs and investors, and a short film showcasing the potential of Salumber's industries, mining, agriculture, and tourism was screened. 

The event was also attended by Additional District Collector Mrs. Rajlakshmi Gehlot, General Manager of the District Industry and Commerce Centre Shailendra Sharma, Ajay Kumar Pandya, Unit Head, RIICO Udaipur, Sanjay Nainawati, Senior Deputy General Manager, RIICO, RAS trainee officers Nilesh Kalal and Paramjeet Singh, Sushil Meena, Senior Manager, RIICO, Bhagwandas, District Industry and Commerce Officer, and Prink Parmar, among other district-level officials.
