Rajkamal Superkings Crowned Champions of the Day-Night Udaipur Tent Cricket League 2024 Season 2

Udaipur  – The Day-Night Udaipur Tent Cricket League 2024 Season 2, organized by the Udaipur Tent Business Committee, concluded today at the Opera Garden, with Rajkamal Superkings emerging as champions.

Committee President Sudhir Chawat announced that the first semifinal was played between the top team of Group A, Apsara Avengers, and the second team of Group B, Kamal Thunderbolt. Apsara Avengers, batting first, scored 73 runs for 4 wickets in 8 overs, thanks to Mayank Sharma's contribution of 31 runs. In reply, Kamal Thunderbolt chased down the target, scoring 75 runs for 5 wickets, with Navin Nath scoring 40 runs. Navin Nath was awarded the Man of the Match.

General Secretary Sunil Hingad shared that the second semifinal featured the top team of Group B against the second team of Group A, Singhal Rising Stars. Rajkamal Superkings set a massive target of 81 runs in 8 overs, led by Jitendra Nath’s 39 runs. Singhal Rising Stars were bowled out for just 24 runs, with Gajendra Singh Rajawat taking 3 wickets, Gaurav Sharma taking 2, and Sunil Hingad claiming 1. Gajendra Singh Rajawat was named Man of the Match, leading Rajkamal Superkings to the final.

General Secretary Kamlesh Pokharna reported that the final match was held between Rajkamal Superkings and Kamal Thunderbolt. Rajkamal Superkings' captain Gaurav Sharma won the toss for the fifth consecutive time and opted to bat first. The team posted a total of 64 runs in 8 overs, with Arbaaz Pathan scoring 20 and Sunil Hingad adding 18 runs. In pursuit of the target, Kamal Thunderbolt was restricted to just 50 runs, losing by 14 runs due to the disciplined bowling and excellent fielding from Rajkamal Superkings. Sunil Hingad and Jitendra Nath each took 2 wickets, while Gajendra Singh Rajawat took 1 wicket. Sunil Hingad was awarded Man of the Match for his all-round performance.

The Cricket Tournament Committee members, Siddharth Chawat, Gaurav Sharma, and Pratik Singhal, announced that the Best Batsman award went to Arbaaz Pathan of Rajkamal Superkings, while the Best Bowler award was given to Gajendra Singh Rajawat, also from Rajkamal Superkings. All match winners and the best female batsman and bowler were honored by the guests.

The closing ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Maharaj Kumar Lakshyrajsingh Mewar and District Collector Arvind Poswal, along with special guests Amit Kumar from D.S. Group, Anita Chawat from Arihant Arts, Hemendra Talesra, and Varun Murdia from Seek Motors.

During the event, Lakshyrajsingh Mewar expressed his admiration for the familial atmosphere of the cricket tournament, stating it reminded him of a mini IPL. Collector Arvind Poswal also praised the grandeur of the tournament in his address. 

The festivities concluded with vibrant fireworks and dance performances. As all the guests declared Gaurav Sharma, captain of Rajkamal Superkings, as the winner, the entire ground erupted with cheers for Rajkamal Superkings.

The event began with a welcome from Vice President Kamaljeetsingh, Treasurer Mahendra Jain, Public Relations Minister Rajkumar Jain, Secretary Bhupendra Jain, Prafull Mehta, Satish Sukhal, Virendra Jain, Dharmesh Navalakha, and Durgesh Sharma. Sports Minister Deepak Khabya expressed gratitude to all sponsors, supporters, tent business committee members, and players from all eight teams for their contributions over the three-day tournament. The cricket organizing committee, including Sunil Hingad, Gaurav Sharma, Siddharth Chawat, Pratik Singhal, and Deepak Khabya, announced that they would return with Season 3 of the Udaipur Tent Cricket League next year, to enthusiastic applause from players and spectators alike.
