Observation and Discussion Organized at Di Thar Heritage Museum

On the occasion of World Tourism Day, an observation and discussion event was held at Di Thar Heritage Museum, located in the rural market of Jaisalmer. Tourism Minister Jitendra Singh Rathore emphasized the unparalleled beauty of Jaisalmer's architectural art, stating that the world is coming to witness it. He highlighted the need to safeguard the region's history and culture for future generations. Rathore stressed that ensuring the safety and coordination of tourism is essential and called for strengthening road, rail, and air services to enhance tourism development.

During the event, senior litterateur Dr. Omprakash Bhatia presented a lecture on Jaisalmer's history and folk culture, emphasizing that local art and beauty can serve as the foundation for tourism. Ratan Singh Bhati, State Chairman of the Rajasthan Youth Hostel Association, suggested organizing adventure safaris in rural areas of Jaisalmer. Social activist Omprakash Bissa remarked that Jaisalmer's history and architectural artistry are top attractions for tourists, asserting that tourism fosters brotherhood and humanity. Senior journalist Suresh Kumar Harsh urged attention to the preservation of havelis and forts.

Retired school principal Nathuram Garg emphasized that tourism provides opportunities to learn about culture. Ghanshyam Khatri, State Secretary of the Youth Hostel Association, proposed initiatives to keep Jaisalmer clean and beautiful. Former Mr. Desert, Jitendra Khatri, drew attention to the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of Jaisalmer's gardens. Lakshmi Narayan Shrimali, Secretary of the Jaisalmer Handicraft Organization, praised the uniqueness of Jaisalmer's handicrafts and highlighted the importance of tourism in providing employment.

The museum's founder, Lakshmi Narayan Khatri, delivered a talk on the significance of heritage, art, and conservation, offering detailed insights into the local artifacts and historical materials displayed in the museum. The event began with all guests offering floral tributes at the portrait of Saraswati.

Attendees included Jivaram, Harshita, Dushyant, Ranaram, Shankar Khatri, Jugal Bhatia, Prem Jeengar, Ganpat Suthar, Ramesh Maheshwari, Ratan Bhargav, Jeevan Khatri, as well as local and international tourists. In closing, museum trustee Jugal Kishore Bhatia expressed gratitude to all visitors.
