New Employment Opportunities to Arise from Industrial Development: Mr. Arvind Kumar Poswal

Udaipur – "Development and progress are not possible without the manufacturing industry. The establishment of new industries can generate more job opportunities. The aim of the Rising Rajasthan Summit is to attract industrial investment to the state," stated District Collector Mr. Arvind Kumar Poswal during a dialogue with entrepreneurs at the UCCI.

The district administration, in collaboration with the District Industries Center, organized a dialogue and pre-review meeting at the UCCI building with local entrepreneurs. The meeting was chaired by District Collector Mr. Poswal and attended by key officials including Shailendra Sharma, Joint Director and General Manager of the District Industries Center, Ajay Pandya, Senior Deputy General Manager of RIICO, and other representatives from various government departments.

At the beginning of the program, UCCI President Mr. M.L. Lunawat welcomed the district administration, government officials, and entrepreneurs. In his address, Mr. Lunawat highlighted the government’s solid efforts to strengthen Rajasthan's economy through the summit. He emphasized the need for industries in the state to have uninterrupted power supply and for the government to develop policies that encourage industrial growth, which would attract significant investment and foreign capital.

Shailendra Sharma informed the attendees that the state government is organizing a three-day "Rising Rajasthan" summit in Jaipur on December 9, 10, and 11, 2024. Following the directives of Chief Minister Mr. Bhajanlal Sharma, the district administration plans to hold a "District Investment Meeting" in Udaipur on October 22, 2024, to explore investment opportunities through discussions with various industry entrepreneurs.

Mr. Sharma also noted that the Industries Department is promptly processing files related to new investments and expansions in existing industries, providing various incentives to support entrepreneurs. He called for making Udaipur an "Industrial Destination."

Ajay Pandya shared updates on new industrial areas being developed in the region by RIICO, stating that the government is committed to resolving any challenges faced by investors quickly, enabling projects to be implemented swiftly. He described this as a golden opportunity for entrepreneurs to sign MOUs for industrial investment.

During the meeting, District Collector Mr. Poswal remarked that the upcoming era belongs to industrial progress. He stressed that the development of infrastructure would create new opportunities for industrial investment and that the entire world is looking towards India. He pointed out that India’s tax system is significantly better than that of many developed countries, encouraging stakeholders to capitalize on these conditions to realize investment possibilities. He also mentioned the Atal Innovation Hub being established in Udaipur, funded with ₹250 crores, which will provide incentives for the IT industry.

Addressing the entrepreneurs, Mr. Poswal reiterated the state government's objective to create a conducive environment for investment and industry through the summit. He highlighted the positive changes in policies compared to previous investment summits and mentioned ongoing tenders for uninterrupted power supply with a target of 10,000 megawatts of electricity production. He assured that the issue of power shortages would be resolved within the next two to three years. He acknowledged that land availability is a major challenge for the industry and reaffirmed the government's commitment to provide necessary land through RIICO and the Revenue Department.
