Governor Holds Meeting with District-Level Officials

Udaipur—Governor Shri Haribhau Bagde directed officials to prioritize tribal welfare in their work. He emphasized the effective implementation of central and state government schemes in tribal areas during a review meeting with district-level officials in Udaipur.

Governor Bagde stated that until the income of the tribal community and the underprivileged increases, comprehensive development cannot be achieved. He urged officials to ensure that every child from poor families receives an education and stressed the importance of enrolling children from scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and nomadic families in schools. He assigned responsibility to village-level personnel to ensure 100% enrollment of children.

**Ensuring Robust Crop Purchase Systems:**
The Governor expressed satisfaction over good rainfall in the region and the potential for a fruitful harvest this season. He emphasized the need for robust arrangements for crop purchases at the government level, ensuring that farmers receive fair value for their hard work.

He insisted on separate evaluations for targeted tribal beneficiaries in each development scheme to ensure that every eligible person benefits from the programs.

**Benefits in Accordance with the Forest Rights Act:**
While reviewing the allotments under the Forest Rights Act, the Governor noted that although land leases are granted, practical challenges remain for people seeking electricity connections or digging wells. He instructed the forest and revenue department officials to work in line with the core spirit of the Forest Rights Act to benefit tribal communities.

**Availability of Internet Services at Panchayat Headquarters:**
The Governor inquired about the availability of internet services at every village panchayat headquarters. He noted that simply providing internet service is not enough; officials must ensure that the residents can actually access these services at the panchayat headquarters. He emphasized that all necessary services should be available on-site rather than relying solely on alternative e-Mitra services.

**Report on Sickle Cell Anemia:**
During the meeting, the Governor requested a report on the cases of sickle cell anemia in the district and the progress made in addressing them, directing that a positivity report be submitted to the Raj Bhavan within a week.

**Accessibility of Ration Supplies:**
The Governor also gathered information about the total number of ration cardholders, families selected under the food security scheme, and the fair price shops operating in the district. He expressed concern that many families still have to travel long distances to collect ration supplies. He urged efforts to ensure that essential ration materials are available within a maximum distance of one kilometer for the general public.

District Collector Arvind Poswal provided a brief overview of the schemes implemented in Udaipur. Prior to this, the Governor discussed the progress of various schemes, including the Mahatma Gandhi Employment Guarantee Scheme, Chief Minister's Water Conservation Scheme, PM Housing Scheme, Clean India Mission, PM Adarsh Gram Yojana, Swamitva Scheme, and health indices, among others.

He also sought factual reports from the administration and forest department officials regarding incidents of wildlife mortality, calling such events tragic and instructing that effective measures be taken to prevent their recurrence. He directed that necessary actions be taken to relocate the relevant wildlife according to regulations, and to explore options for fencing fields that are near forest areas, seeking guidance from the headquarters as needed.
