Collective Efforts Crucial for Protection of Child Rights - Dr. Purohit

Udaipur - Dr. Sharad Chandra Purohit, former director of the Rajasthan State Educational Research and Training Institute, emphasized that effective protection of child rights requires a collaborative approach from both government and non-government organizations. He made these remarks while chairing the inaugural meeting of the Rajasthan Child Advocacy Group (R-Keg) at the Vivekananda Hall of Gayatri Seva Sansthan in Udaipur.

Dr. Shailendra Pandya, a child rights specialist and director of Gayatri Seva Sansthan, provided insights into the current efforts by various organizations at different levels to protect child rights. He highlighted the importance of collaborative initiatives at both the policy and grassroots levels. Dr. Purohit expressed his optimism about the significant impact that can be achieved when government, voluntary, and individual organizations work together to eliminate child abuse and violence comprehensively.

During the meeting, Chandragupta Singh Chauhan, a member of the core group and social worker, shared information about linking retired administrative officers from R-Keg to involve young individuals interested in working in the field of social service. He stressed the need to identify and recognize initiatives with far-reaching results for child rights.

Dr. Dhruvakumar Kaviya, a member of the Rajasthan Child Commission and representative of the state government, commended the efforts of R-Keg and suggested providing recommendations for Mission 2030 aimed at children's welfare.

Former President of the Bal Kalyan Samiti, Udaipur, Dr. Preeti Jain, and former member Dr. Rajkumari Bhargava, along with social worker Dr. Rajshree Gandhi and others, attended the meeting. They collectively agreed to appoint Dr. Sharad Chandra Purohit as the Chairman of the Rajasthan Child Advocacy Group.

The first meeting of the group saw the participation of various organizations, including Bal Kalyan Samiti, Udaipur, and representatives from Bal Suraksha Network, expressing unanimous support for the newly appointed Chairman. The meeting concluded with thanks extended by Nitin Paliwal from Gayatri Seva Sansthan.
