Udaipur - The 66th Foundation Day Celebration of the Rajasthan Sahitya Academy concluded with a grand event at the Academy Auditorium. The occasion included a special tribute to the esteemed literary figure Dr. Tara Prakash Joshi, honored with the highest literary accolade by the academy. Dr. K.K. Sharma, the program's chairperson, highlighted the visionary role of Dr. Janardanrai Nagar in the foundation of the Sahitya Academy. He praised the academy's success in achieving its objectives, with initiatives like the Madhumati magazine and various literary activities that have gained recognition across India.
Reflecting on Dr. Tara Prakash Joshi's contributions, Kishan Dadhich emphasized the social, cultural, and national impact of her poetry on the literary landscape of Rajasthan. He acknowledged Dr. Joshi's efforts during the severe famine in Rajasthan, where she collaborated with poets to raise awareness and help people through her literary works.
Dr. Kundan Mali, a special guest, provided an overview of the academy, highlighting its crucial role in elevating the status of literary figures today. He commended the academy for providing inspiration, encouragement, and support to writers without any discrimination. The event began with Iqbal Husain Iqbal offering Saraswati Vandana, praising the academy for its significant contributions.
Dr. Basant Singh Solanki, the Secretary of the Rajasthan Sahitya Academy, extended a warm welcome and shed light on various activities of the academy. Jagdish Tiwari shared the famous song "Mera Vetan Itna Rani Jitna Garam Tawe Par Pani," paying tribute to Dr. Tara Prakash Joshi. Dr. Jyoti Poonj reminisced about her experiences associated with the academy.
