Udaipur: The annual meet and honor ceremony of Badi Sadri Jain Mitra Mandal was held at Shri Vardhman Sthanakwasi Jain Shravak Sangh in Hiran Magri, Sector-4. The event witnessed participation from community members across the Udaipur division, as well as from India and abroad.
Arvind Jaroli, President of the Mandal, shared that the event's Chief Guest was Rajasthan's Minister for Cooperation and Civil Aviation, Gautam Dak. Other dignitaries included Udaipur MLA Tarachand Jain, Udaipur Urban Development Authority Commissioner Rahul Jain, and Dr. Manish Mehta, Vice President of JAINA Academy from the USA.
In his address, Gautam Dak emphasized that the rail services introduced by the Central Government have boosted the development of Badi Sadri, connecting it to various parts of the country. He highlighted the significance of such events in fostering connections between residents and the diaspora from Badi Sadri.
MLA Tarachand Jain stated that events like these enhance brotherhood and provide a sense of belonging, especially for those living away from their roots. Honoring talents during such gatherings inspires them to achieve greater heights.
Rahul Jain, Commissioner of the UDA, appreciated the initiative, calling it a necessity of the times. He noted that today's youth, preoccupied with studies and career-building, often lack opportunities to engage in social and religious activities or interact with the senior members of the community. Events like these unite people and promote harmony.
Dr. Manish Mehta, hailing from Badi Sadri and currently spreading Jainism in the USA, discussed Jain philosophy, emphasizing the concept of self-reliance and the importance of following the teachings of Tirthankaras for self-realization and mastery over mind and body.
Secretary Kamlesh Samota presented the annual report, outlining the activities undertaken and future plans, including a proposed pilgrimage to Ayodhya Dham. Treasurer Kanak Mehta shared the financial report and presented two balance sheets for transparency.
Board Member Shyam Nagori expressed appreciation for the Mandal's initiatives and announced plans to construct a building on the Mandal's land in Balicha within two years. The assembly unanimously agreed to extend Arvind Jaroli's tenure as President by two years.
In his welcome address, President Arvind Jaroli emphasized the Mandal's commitment to community welfare, including blood donation camps, educational assistance, and economic support to the needy. He highlighted that the Mandal has provided blood to 2,957 individuals and acquired plots in Dabok and Balicha at subsidized rates for community purposes.
During the event, Jaroli requested Gautam Dak to initiate a morning roadways bus service from Udaipur to Badi Sadri, enabling residents to participate in early morning social events.
The program's coordinator, Sunil Mehta, announced the recipients of various community honors, including Ashok Pitlia, Devendra Mehta, Ramesh Mehta, Deepak Jaroli, Dilip Gadia, Virendra Kothari, Hitesh Mogra, and others for their contributions in different fields.
The event also featured the launch of the Mandal's New Year calendar, attended by notable dignitaries, including Prakash Mehta, Manohar Mogra, and members of the Women's Wing.
Sonal Kanthaliya hosted the event, while Vinod Gadia, Vice President of the Mandal, delivered the vote of thanks. The ceremony began with lamp lighting, garlanding of Lord Mahavir, and a welcome song. The Mandal's office bearers honored the guests with garlands, turbans, shawls, and mementos.
