A "Savitribai Phule Literary Discourse" event was organized at the Government Public Central Library in Kota on the 131st birth anniversary of India's first female teacher and social reformer, Savitribai Phule. This event was dedicated to women's education and her contributions.
The event commenced in the presence of Chief Guest Rakesh Shrangi, former Principal of the Secondary Education Department, and Special Guest Kanhaiyalal Gochar. In his speech, Shrangi highlighted Savitribai Phule's contributions, stating that her life is an extraordinary source of inspiration. She fought to break social barriers and secure the right to education for women.
In the opening session, the divisional library president, Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, mentioned, "Due to Savitribai Phule's efforts, today, female teachers are respected and honored in society. Her teaching style and commitment to social reform have opened the doors of education for women." He also emphasized that libraries should create platforms for women's education and empowerment through such discourses.
The event focused on the literary works of Savitribai Phule. Researcher Madhusudan Chaudhary played a key role in selecting her literature. The event was managed by Rohit Nama and Ajay Saxena. The session was conducted in an impactful manner by Ram Niwas Dhakad, Consultant.
The literary discourse session discussed Savitribai Phule's poems and writings, which carried messages of education and social justice. Through her poetry, she raised her voice against discrimination and injustice towards women in society. During the discourse, speakers cited examples from her poems to highlight the relevance of her thoughts.
At the conclusion of the program, Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava thanked all the guests, researchers, and participants. He emphasized the importance of such programs in libraries and stressed the need for similar events in the future.
