Jaipur – Rajasthan Governor Shri Hari Babu Kambhoj chaired a special review meeting with the state’s universities, emphasizing the need to adopt innovations in technical education, promote invention of new technologies, increase the number of approved patents, and develop intellectual capacities through updated curricula.
Addressing the gathering at Raj Bhavan, the Governor reviewed the implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP) and progress made towards NAAC accreditation. He stressed that improving the quality of education must be the top priority for all universities in Rajasthan.
During the meeting, Dr. Ajeet Kumar Karnataka, Vice-Chancellor of MPUAT Udaipur, informed the Governor that the university had received 44 patents in just two years, and its Scopus H-index had significantly improved from 37 to 78. He also highlighted ongoing research in solar energy utilization and crop residue management. Additionally, JNVU Jodhpur shared its achievement of successfully attaining NAAC accreditation.
The Governor assured full support for reforms in higher education and stated that rules and laws would be amended if necessary to achieve this goal. He emphasized promoting education in mother tongue, integrating Indian knowledge systems and cultural values, and developing effective academic frameworks in line with NEP.
He also instructed universities to ensure timely action for NAAC accreditation and encouraged them to contribute towards making India a global knowledge hub. The Governor called on Rajasthan’s universities to strive for national leadership in higher education.
Dr. Prithvi, Secretary to the Governor, highlighted the need for aligning education and research with global standards and innovation. Higher Education Secretary Mr. Bhanu Prakash Ataru presented the progress made by colleges and universities in the state.
