On World Water Day 2025, Adani Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to water conservation. This year’s theme, Glacier Conservation, highlights the crucial role of glaciers in ensuring water security.
Glaciers are the primary source of freshwater on Earth, but their rapid melting due to climate change is exacerbating the global water crisis. In this scenario, local water conservation efforts can play a significant role in strengthening global water security.
Under the leadership of Chairperson Dr. Priti Adani, Adani Foundation has been implementing impactful water conservation initiatives in Rajasthan’s water-scarce districts, particularly Barmer and Jaisalmer. Since 2022-23, the foundation has revived 53 ponds across 51 villages, increasing their water storage capacity by over 3.8 lakh cubic meters.
In arid regions like Rajasthan, water scarcity poses a serious challenge not only to human life but also to wildlife. Adani Foundation’s efforts have improved water availability and enhanced biodiversity. The restoration of traditional water bodies is also helping mitigate the adverse effects of climate change.
