Continuous Promotion of Sports in Rajasthan

Chief Minister Mr. Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized that patience and discipline are the keys to success, both in life and in sports. He added that sports instill discipline, hard work, social values, and patriotism. The state government is dedicated to fostering sports in Rajasthan by creating a conducive environment with proper infrastructure, scientific approaches, analysis, consultancy, and nutritional support. A comprehensive sports policy is being developed to achieve these goals.

Mr. Sharma was addressing the concluding ceremony of the 37th Dangi-Patel Community Sports Competition, organized by the Dangi Seva Sansthan-Sports Association Udaipur at the Khera Kanpur sports ground. He congratulated the Dangi Patel community for continuously hosting this event since 1989, providing a platform for budding sports talents.

State Government’s Initiatives for Promoting Sports

The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s efforts to promote athletes, including the launch of 'Mission Olympics,' which aims to provide world-class training, kits, coaching, and facilities to 50 talented players preparing for the Olympics. Facilities under the Central Government’s ‘Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS)’ are also being extended to players in Rajasthan.

Furthermore, youth were encouraged through district, block, divisional, and state-level competitions during the recent Youth Festival. Under the ‘One District, One Sport’ initiative, academies for popular local sports are being established in every district. A rehabilitation center for athletes has been set up in Jaipur with an investment of ₹15 crore, and open gyms and sports grounds are being prioritized at the gram panchayat level. Budget allocations for sports have also been significantly increased.

Rajasthan’s Glorious Sporting History

Mr. Sharma recalled Rajasthan’s rich legacy of sports achievements, highlighting accomplishments in basketball, volleyball, shooting, equestrian events, archery, athletics, rowing, and kabaddi. He expressed pride in the eight players from Rajasthan who participated in the Paris Paralympics, bringing home three medals, including gold and bronze. Medal-winning players were honored with ₹5 crore each to recognize their achievements.

‘Khelo Rajasthan’ Youth Games to Be Held at Sub-Division Level

The Chief Minister announced that Rajasthan has requested to host the 2026 Khelo India National Youth Games. On similar lines, ‘Khelo Rajasthan Youth Games’ are being organized at sub-division, district, and state levels, with traditional and indigenous sports being included. A National Excellence Center and Khelo India State Center of Excellence are also proposed to nurture local talent and prepare athletes for national and international competitions.

Recruitment and Transparency

Mr. Sharma also addressed recruitment initiatives, stating that around 60,000 appointment letters were issued within a year, with 15,000 more appointments in progress. A recruitment calendar for 81,000 posts has already been published. He assured that no incidents of paper leaks have occurred during his tenure, and strict action has been taken against those involved in such malpractices, ensuring fair opportunities for youth.

The event witnessed the presence of MLAs Mr. Tarachand Jain, Mr. Phoolsingh Meena, Mr. Shrichand Kriplani, Mr. Udaylal Dangi, and Mrs. Shantadevi, along with public representatives, saints, senior officials, and a large number of locals. Sports Association members, including Secretary Mr. Ramesh Dangi, Vice President Mr. Keshulal Dangi, and several dignitaries from the Dangi community, also participated.
