Jaipur, Jaipur witnessed an inspiring display of patriotism and community spirit as over 500 Army personnel, Veterans and enthusiastic Citizens participated in the 5 kilometer Promo Run on 24 Nov 2024. The run was flagged off by Lt Gen Harbinder Singh Vandra, Chief of Staff, South Western Command from National Cadet Corps Complex, JLN Marg, Jaipur. Following the resounding success of the first promo run held on October 13, 2024, at Vijay Dwar, Vaishali Nagar, this event reinforced the message of fitness and nationalism, resonating with the city’s spirit.
Promo Run 2 as a precursor to ‘Honour Run’ scheduled on 08 Dec 2024 was aimed to foster a sense of unity and gratitude toward the Indian Army’s heroes and bravehearts while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. The event saw Soldiers, Veterans and Civilians running side by side, symbolising the unbreakable bond between the military and the people it serves. The enthusiasm and participation of Jaipur’s residents made the event a true celebration of collective spirit and commitment to the nation. It sets the stage for the Honour Run, further cementing Jaipur’s dedication to honouring the sacrifices of Indian Army personnel and their families.
This run also served as a prelude to the prestigious 'Honour Run' slated for December 8, 2024. Themed ‘Ek_Daud_Veeron_Ke_Naam’, the Honour Run will feature timed races of 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km along with a non-timed 3 Km category. The run will be flagged off by Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Minister for Industry & Commerce, IT & Communication. Several prominent marathon runners, National Cadet Corps Cadets, School Children & thousands of Citizens are expected to participate in the landmark event.
