Oscar winning filmmaker Giuseppe Tornatore came to New Delhi with Shivendra Singh Dungarpur

New Delhi. Delhiites got an opportunity to watch the restored version of one of the most beautiful artistic and popular films of world cinema, five-time Oscar winner 'Cinema Paradiso' on the big screen at the Stein Auditorium of India Habitat Centre New Delhi on Monday night, courtesy of Film Heritage Foundation and Italian Culture Institute. Earlier, a special show of this film was also held in Mumbai after restoration.

On this occasion, Oscar winning filmmaker Giuseppe Tornatore and Film Heritage Foundation (FHF) Director Shivendra Singh Dungarpur specially came to New Delhi and before the special screening of his favourite classic "Cinema Paradiso" at India Habitat Centre, he gave detailed information about the making of this film and its journey to Oscar.

He praised the challenging work being done by Film Heritage Foundation's Founder Director Shivendra Singh Dungarpur and his team and their contribution in reviving many classic films which are on the verge of losing their originality and are in a dilapidated condition.

On this occasion, Shivendra Singh Dungarpur said that the visit of Oscar winner great filmmaker Giuseppe Tornatore to India is indeed a matter of pride for everyone. He informed that his organization FHF has been engaged in the difficult task of reviving films that are almost dead or in ICU-like condition for the last ten years and he is happy that for the last three consecutive years, Indian films revived by his organization have been screened on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival.

The audience in the packed auditorium welcomed Oscar winner filmmaker Giuseppe Tornatore and Film Heritage Foundation (FHF) Director Shivendra Singh Dungarpur and Istituto Italiano di Cultura di New Delhi director Andrea Anastasio with thunderous applause. The tremendous craze of the audience for "Cinema Paradiso" was seen from the fact that a huge crowd gathered to watch it and more people were standing outside than those sitting inside the auditorium.
