Grand IIFA Event Agreement Signed in Jaipur

New Delhi/Jaipur: An MOU has been signed between IIFA and the Rajasthan government for a grand IIFA event to be held in Jaipur next year, in the presence of the state's Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Dhiya Kumari.

Suresh Aiyer, Vice President of IIFA, and Vijay Pal Singh, Tourism Commissioner of Rajasthan, signed the MOU. Also present were Rakesh Sharma, Additional Director of the Tourism Department, Anand Tripathi, Pankaj Dhrendra, Director of the Archaeological Department, and various other officials.

During the event, Deputy Chief Minister Dhiya Kumari highlighted the Rajasthan government's commitment to promoting tourism innovations, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for tourism in India. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the "IIFA-25 Celebration" will be held in Jaipur from March 7 to 9.

Kumari stated that the IIFA Awards will undoubtedly promote tourism in Rajasthan. During the event, renowned Bollywood stars and film personalities will be guests in Jaipur, further enhancing the state's unique culture and tourism on a global stage.

**Celebrating 25 Years of Indian Cinema in Jaipur**

Dhiya Kumari noted that the silver jubilee of the IIFA Awards will feature a grand celebration of 25 years of Indian cinema in Jaipur. The three-day event will include various segments, activities, and the award ceremonies.

She emphasized that this event will not only promote tourism in Rajasthan but also increase investments in the sector and create job opportunities, benefiting all areas related to tourism.

**Honoring Mega Achievers in Indian Cinema**

Secretary Ravi Jain mentioned that the "IIFA-25 Celebrations" scheduled for March 7 to 9, 2025, in Jaipur will include numerous programs where prominent figures will perform, and mega achievers in Indian cinema will be honored. The awards will provide global branding and marketing opportunities for the state.

Suresh Aiyer expressed excitement about the unique signature event set to be hosted in Jaipur, stating that it will celebrate Indian cinema. He noted that IIFA, established in 2000, has been held annually in 14 different countries and 18 various cities.

Aiyer assured that this year’s event in Jaipur will be conducted on a grand scale, creating opportunities in tourism, media, and entertainment sectors for Rajasthan. The last IIFA was held in Mumbai in 2020, making 2025 a significant opportunity for Jaipur.

**Invitation to the 2024 IIFA Awards**

Deputy Chief Minister Dhiya Kumari received an invitation from Suresh Aiyer to attend the 2024 IIFA Awards scheduled for September 27 to 29 in Abu Dhabi.

It is noteworthy that when IIFA started, only a small portion of Indian cinema’s earnings came from international markets. Now, nearly 25-30% of revenue is sourced from these markets, many of which began with IIFA's global events. IIFA is regarded as the highest honor by the film industry, global fans, and film gurus, and is often referred to by the media as the “traveling Oscars.” As preparations for the March event continue, further details will be shared by the IIFA management and the Rajasthan government, with fans of Indian cinema gathering in Jaipur to celebrate its globalization.
