Upper Yamuna Review Committee Meeting Held at Yamuna Bhavan, Noida

New Delhi : A crucial meeting of the Upper Yamuna Review Committee took place at Yamuna Bhavan in Noida, located in the National Capital Region. Chaired by the Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the meeting saw the active participation of Rajasthan's Water Resources Minister, Suresh Singh Rawat, along with key officials from Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.

Following the meeting, Minister Suresh Singh Rawat shared insights into the extensive discussions held on matters related to the waters of the Yamuna River, which flows through all four states. The meeting, presided over by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, facilitated positive discussions among the ministers and officials from the participating states.

Minister Rawat emphasized the need for collaborative efforts among Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan to efficiently manage the water resources of the Yamuna River. As the summer season approaches, there was a consensus among the participants to work together for the optimal utilization and cleanliness of the river water. Minister Rawat highlighted the recent agreement with Haryana regarding the water from the Tajewala Head in the Yamuna River, ensuring the timely availability of adequate drinking water to several districts in Rajasthan.

Expressing gratitude to Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for this significant agreement, Minister Rawat also took part in the inauguration of the newly constructed Yamuna Bhavan in Noida during the event. The committee meeting underscored the importance of regional cooperation and concerted efforts for the sustainable management of Yamuna's waters.
