Exit Polls Suggest Congress-BJP Neck and Neck in Rajasthan

Ahead of next year's general elections, considered as semi-finals, the survey results indicate intense competition in the legislative assembly elections of five crucial states. The polls suggest that in Rajasthan, where elections were held for all 200 seats on November 25, the Congress and BJP are in a close fight for a majority.

Axis My India, claiming to have the most accurate exit poll results, forecasts a strong chance of the Congress forming the government in Rajasthan. Other exit polls, however, suggest that the Congress may lead in two states, Chhattisgarh and Telangana, while the BJP might dominate in two states, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. There is also a possibility of a regional party coming to power in Mizoram. The results of the exit polls have left several prominent leaders breathless.

If Axis My India's predictions turn out to be accurate, it could break the tradition in Rajasthan, where governments have typically changed every five years. If Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's leadership leads to a Congress government, it will mark his fourth term, following in the footsteps of Mohan Lal Sukhadia.

According to Axis My India's survey, the Congress is estimated to receive 42% of the votes in Rajasthan, with the BJP closely behind at 41%, while other parties are expected to get 17%.

The survey also suggests that, except for Shekhawati and Mewar-Vagad regions, where BJP is predicted to lead, Congress is likely to dominate in Hadoti, Ahirwal-Mewat, Marwar-Godwal, and Jaisalmer-Bikaner, as well as Dhundhad-Jaipur regions.

The survey indicates that women voters have favored the Congress more than men, and there is a leaning towards Congress among SC, ST, and Muslim voters. In contrast, BJP seems to have the support of traditional Brahmin and Baniya communities, with a tilt from Jat and Gujjar voters.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, returning from a two-day trip to Delhi, expressed confidence in the Congress forming the government in Rajasthan. He asserted that the BJP is not winning in any of the five states. Gehlot highlighted the lack of anti-incumbency sentiment and praised his government's popular schemes. The outcome of the exit polls will be closely watched to see which party will ascend to power and which will face defeat in the state.
