NEET Exam on May 4, Online Applications Begin

Udaipur: The application process for NEET UG, the country's largest medical entrance exam organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA), has begun. 

Education counselor Vikas Chhajed informed that the NEET UG exam will be held on May 4 in pen-and-paper mode and in a single shift from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The last date to apply for NEET UG is March 7, and applications can be submitted through the official NTA website.

**Who Should Apply for NEET UG?**
NEET UG is the entrance exam for various undergraduate medical courses, including MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BYMS, BSMS, Military Nursing Services BSc, and four-year nursing courses. Candidates must qualify NEET UG to be eligible for admission to these courses.

**Application Fees:**
- General category students: ₹1700
- EWS & OBC category: ₹1600
- SC, ST, PWD category: ₹1000
- Foreign students: ₹9500

**Exam Pattern:**
The exam will be 3 hours long, consisting of 45 questions each from Physics and Chemistry, and 90 questions from Biology (Botany, Zoology). A total of 180 questions will be asked, with a maximum score of 720 points. For each correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded, and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

**NEET UG Age Limit:**
The minimum age for NEET UG is 17 years. Candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31 of the year they wish to join medical courses. There is no upper age limit for NEET.

**NEET for Studying Abroad:**
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, National Medical Commission, and the NTA NEET bulletin, any Indian citizen or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) cardholder who wishes to study medicine in a foreign medical college/institute must qualify NEET UG. Only then will they be considered eligible for the licensing process in India.

**Languages:**
The exam will be conducted in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

**Important Dates for NEET UG:**
- NEET Application: February 7, 2025 to March 7, 2025 (until 11:50 PM)
- Last date to pay application fee: March 7 (until 11:50 PM)
- Correction window for applications: March 9 to 11
- NEET City Slip release: By April 26
- NEET UG Admit Card: May 1
- NEET UG Exam Date: May 4
- NEET Result: June 14, 2025
