Udaipur: An "Indian Language Festival" was organized under the Faculty of Education, Bhupal Nobles University, Udaipur, as part of co-curricular activities. Providing details about the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Shashi Chittoda, informed that the program was inaugurated with a lamp lighting ceremony by Dr. Husaini Bohra, Head of the Department of Hindi, Dr. Chandrrekha Sharma, and Dr. Kirti Chundawat, Assistant Professor of the Hindi Department. Dr. Seema Sharma welcomed all the distinguished guests.
Dr. Bohra spoke about the significance of Indian Language Day, explaining that it is celebrated in honor of the birth anniversary of the renowned Tamil poet Subramanyam Bharati. He emphasized that Sanskrit is the mother of all languages and highlighted the contributions of the Devanagari and Dravidian scripts to the development of languages, stating that language touches the heart.
Dr. Chandrrekha Sharma shed light on the role of language in nurturing Indian traditions and culture. Dr. Kirti Chundawat described the journey of language development, explaining that regional languages become more refined as they reach a larger audience through literature.
Prof. Shashi Chittoda, in her address, emphasized that linguistic unity strengthens our human relationships. She also mentioned that the National Education Policy, 2020, acknowledges the importance of language.
The event was conducted by Dr. Khushboo Kumawat and Dr. Ajaypal Singh Chundawat, while the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Nand Kishore Sharma. The Acting President of BN Institution, Colonel (Prof.) Shiv Singh Sarangdevot, Secretary Prof. Mahendra Singh Agarwal, Managing Director Mohabbat Singh Rathore, and Registrar of BN University, Dr. Niranjan Narayan Singh Rathore, expressed their happiness and conveyed their best wishes for the successful organization of the program. They stated that the institution has been working for a century to promote and encourage enthusiasm for learning Indian languages, preserving Indian languages and culture, and strengthening the foundation for children’s bright future.
